March 7, 2026 Confederate Flag Day/Headstone Dedications/Oakwood Cemetery
Our camp participated in the SCV Virginia Division’s Confederate Flag Day Event at Oakwood Cemetery in Richmond. 93 headstones (since last year) and the new Texas Monument were dedicated. Past Texas Division Commander Michael Hurley and his wife Tami came here from Texas. They told us the story of the Texans buried here and placed Texas soil and a yellow rose along the base of the obelisk. The weather was great and it was a very nice event. Attached are a few pics. Had to include one of Howie, our camp photographer. He was born in San Antonio, TX.
March 6, 2026 Oakwood Cemetery New headstone installations
Today we were at Oakwood Cemetery in Richmond assisting the SCV VA Division’s Oakwood Committee. Our camp has members on this committee that installs headstones for Confederate soldiers laying in unmarked graves. Here are some pics of a few headstones we installed today.
February 18, 2026 Camp Meeting/New member Induction
Last night we had a packed meeting room, a great guest speaker and we inducted a new member.
February 14, 2026 Stuart graveside birthday ceremony
Today we were at the General JEB Stuart gravesite in Hollywood Cemetery attending a ceremony commemorating the anniversary of his February birthday. This annual event is put on by JEB Stuart Camp 1343. Today’s guest speaker was Tom Perry of JEB Stuart Preservation, Inc.
We presented our camp wreath as part of the ceremony. Other camps presenting wreaths today along side us include General James Longstreet Camp Sons of Confederate Veterans, Clinton Hatcher Camp 21, and Robert E Lee Camp 1589.
February 3, 2026 New Immortal 600 headstone installed
Thanks to the efforts of two of our compatriots two new headstones for Clinton and Emmett Depriest are now up in Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond. Emmett is one of the Immortal 600.
January 23, 2026 Annual Banquet
We had our Annual Banquet last night. The guest speaker was Sam Winkler portraying CSA President Jefferson Davis. Sam did an excellent presentation and even participated with us during the swearing-in ceremony of our newly elected officers. It was a wonderful night and everyone had a great time.
January 17, 2026 Lee Jackson Park Brick Laying Ceremony
Yesterday we traveled to Fairfield VA to dedicate and place our memorial brick at the Lee Jackson Park flag plaza. Since we were near Lexington, we took time to visit Gen. Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson’s gravesite.
