Brian was escorted to the house via motorcade led by the Hanover Sheriff’s department. Many local officials were there including Hanover Board Supervisor Michael Herzberg, Hanover Delegate Scott Wyatt, and Hanover Senator Ryan McDougle. After all the remarks, everyone migrated to the front of the house to raise the US flag, indicating the transfer of this mortgage-free house to Brian. The ribbon was cut and everyone was invited inside.
The house is beautiful. Our camp commander Ray Walton met and talked with Tom Landwermeyer, Brigadier General, USA, Ret. And President/CEO of Homes for Our Troops. He learned that 90% of all donations they receive go directly towards the building of these homes. Our camp encourages all SCV camps to check out the Homes for Our Troops website (hfotusa.org) and review their home build project map to see if any of their existing 74 projects are taking place in your area.
